Bulgarian Big Heart (Bolgarskoye Serdtse Krupnoye) tomato produces 14-52 oz. (400g – 1,5kg) ginormous red fruits! It is an oxheart heritage tomato but with the distinctive heart shape that most oxhearts no longer have – heart with blunt-ended shape and ribbing! Flesh is juicy and meaty with few seeds and delicious classic tomato flavor! These giant tomatoes don’t have voids inside and with no white “core” in the center which is great for cooking thick, strong flavored sauce for your pasta or as a base for delicious tomato soup. Bulgarian Big Heart tomato is a Bulgarian heirloom variety. The seeds were brought by Sergey Sorokin (USSR) from his journey to Bulgaria in the late 1970s. He grew this variety in Russia for about 40 years and then shared the seeds with his friends.
